I’m learning to play and sing “I love you I’m sorry” by Gracie Abrams, but it contains a few swear words. I’ve never sworn and don’t want to start. What are some alternative words that I could use in this song to be clean? (I’ve been using ‘stuff’ for the sh word but can’t think of anything for the other one)Thanks 😄 |

@dritten527 well, I’ve never heard the song, but you could use the alternative words. So for the d word (if it has that word in the song) you could use dang or darn.

For this specific song, I can only find one other swear work, and she's basically saying she was mean/dumb. Maybe you could say "I was nasty" , "I was stupid" ? But also, I don't know how old you are, but I feel like cursing cause it's the lyrics is different. In general, cursing really isn't that big a deal unless it's directed at someone. So if it's just the lyrics, I think it's fine 🙂 |

Ok thanks @Arkengheis! I’ve tried “I was stupid” and it fits the rhythm so I’ll keep that unless something else turns up.

On Spotify there is a clean version of the song with lyrics. You can tell because it doesn’t have the “e” for explicit when it comes up in the search results 🙂

Yes @goregirl, I’ve listened to that. It seems to just skip the words, but I’m trying to come up with a way that doesn’t skip them. Thanks anyways!
