DMC 1000% Loops and threads is a bit cheaper but I’ve occasionally had issues with it snapping off. I’ve heard good things about anchor as well but have yet to try it!

Loops and threads is the best for sure. It’s cheaper and less quality but it looks better than DMC in my opinion. DMC string unravels and ik you can just tie the ends but its not my jams. It’s also too shiny and loops and threads is more matte

DMC Soft Cotton (aka DMC retors mat) is really underrated in my opinion. It's softer than the usual DMC embroidery floss, doesn't fray at all, doesn't reflect light as much because of the matte finish, but is just a bit thicker because it's primarily designed for needlepoint. It's very pleasant to work with.Still, I usually alternate between the two types depending on how big I want the knots to be. For reference, my 12 string normal bracelet measures ~12 mm wide with DMC embroidery floss and 15 mm with Soft cotton. Also, they cost the same in my local stores, but DMC soft cotton has 10 m per skein instead of 8 m, so it's technically cheaper. |

I use DMC most of the time and have tried Loops and Threads before but have had it snap a couple times

I use DMC mainly but I also buy iris brand for black and white strings since I need a lot for base strings for alphas and such and it’s cheaper to buy a lot of them.
