Hello! Does anyone know who the user is that posted a picture of watchbands that she did? They are a neutral color, and she had watch clasps on the ends. It was a normal pattern, kind of like a shaped chevron. If you don't know who posted it, do you know the pattern? Thank you!

hi! 😊 so i saw you were searching for the watchband i did, im guessing you want to make one, so i thought i might pop in and help you!

just so you know, you can use pretty much any pattern (including alphas) and modify it so you have the holes in the middle. you can even do as in this tutorial; How To Make A Bookmark Start by @ningc98 for the alpha holes. get creative!
it is usually easier to make a pattern that already has the holes in the middle, so maybe you should start with that first if you dont feel confident enough to try new ways. and it would probably also be a good idea to do one for yourself first so you get the hang of it.

just keep in mind to check the photo i did on the watchband from time to time to make sure you understood what i did and not get too confused into how i did, which im gonna explain now.

1. choose a pattern based on how wide is the buckle screw. now, since the knotting tying varies from person to person, i suggest using one of the normal pattern bracelets you made to identify of how many strings the pattern should be for the watchband. once you did now you may start the watchband. but how you ask?

2. starting the watchband; i started by cutting the strings and folding each of them into half and attach them just like you would do on a keychain (the larks head knot), on the buckle screw. now you can start knotting the watchband. i suggest buying a cheap watchband (or even use what you had before on your watch) specifically made for the measurements of your watch and which fits well on your hand. use it as reference of how long each watchband should be, dont forget to leave more bcz you're gonna need it for whats coming.

3. as you can see on the watchband in the picture (the plain one that has no buckle) it ends in a triangle. thats how you can end your strap (or watchband). but you can also end it in another shape if you want or know, i didnt really know how to end it so i just did a triangle and kinda ended it there somehow.

4. the folding, sewing; as you can see in the picture of my watchband, the end of the buckle watchband is folded and sewn to create the hole into which passes the screw of the watch (and since the screw of most of the watches can be taken out, thats how you put on your watchband). if thats not how your watch works, then attach the strings on the watch screw and from there knot the watchband. >1
back to the loop (hole for the screw) end it just like step 3 (or whatever ending you want to do), leave more so you can create the loop which is gonna be sewn to create the hole for the screw (in my case added on the watch screw). you can also fold it and check if it comes well, preferably leave more end than you think you need just to make sure you dont remain on shortages when sewing to create the hole or loop. when making the loop, you fold the end of your watchband and sew it at the sewing machine (if you dont have one do it by hand, it might be a little difficult, and i suggest making small stitches so it holds it better) and go a few times over it, pretty much sew it multiple times with the same string, going back and forth. and use sewing thread bcz its thin. also, if you feel like the watchband you started doesnt really fit in between the watch and the watches screw, then you might wanna do like i said earlier at >1.

5. the strap keeper, loop; i think i looked on a tutorial on yt on how to make a ring like friendship bracelets, and i used it for the strap keeper. i think if you type into yt "friendship bracelets ring" you will find smthin. you wanna add the strap keeper while you still doing one of the watchbands so it wont be difficult to add it after finishing it.

i hope i helped somehow 🙂
if you have any more questions, please ask me, i probably confused you a little bit with my explanation😅 🙈
happy knotting!
