Is magenta pink or purple? Just got new thread and organizing by color. I dont wanna make a new section just for the 4 or 5 skeins of magenta I have, so I was just wondering which one you guys think it belongs in.

Magenta is pink. It's pure 'red' without any yellow or blue in it. Since it has no blue, it is not purple.

I believe on the color wheel, it's considered more of a purple but in my heart it's a shade of pink because there's more red than blue. it's like the mix between pink and purple, so when I turn it into color math it makes more sense, likewhite + red + red + blue = magenta because there's two reds, it makes more sense that its pink in my brain : ) |
