There is this person in my class. My teacher always calls them a they. Their first name is Kai but they sound like a girl. How do I respectfully ask someone for their pronouns? I want to be able to get it right.

I’d say just use they/them and let them correct you if they aren’t okay with it. You could also just ask your friends if they know Kai’s pronouns

it's always okay to just ask someone for their pronouns! just be like "hi, i just wanted to ask what your pronouns are because i'm not sure" and even if they think the question is random they'll definitely appreciate you asking instead of just assuming.
