Why do we need ranks and what do they do?

I think ranks are a way to show users appreciation for how much they contribute to the site and some users are also motivated because of the ranks because they want to reach the highest rank.When you just joined braceletbook, you can't use the chat yet, because of your low rank. This is to prevent spam. Otherwise people could join braceletbook just to spam the chat. The higher the rank, the more variations you can add in a day. This is to make sure that users who submit lots of variations are experienced with how the website works because reviewing variations is a big part of reviewing patterns and they commonly need to be declined. |
