I’m really bad at studying and doing schoolwork in general, anyone have tips for how to stay more motivated and get things done faster?

my biggest tip is to take breaks! (ex: every 20 mins take a 5 min break) hope this helps!

I recommend getting some lovely stationery or colorful pens or highlighters and color-coding your notes. This personally makes me motivated to take notes. For taking notes during class I would recommend plotting down only the most important things and trying bullet points during the actual course and then afterward doing a bit more research. For memorizing information I would say write it 3x read it 3x and then read it out loud 3x. Hope this helps!

Determining your studying style would be a big help - you can just search 'learning style quiz' and any of the links would be fine 😊 but you can also adjust your studying style based on the subject! E.g. when I studied engineering/math subjects I'd try to write out the steps in the calculations and do example questions right after to make sure I understood it. Only then I'd move onto the next topic. And when I did more essay-based subjects I'd just write a lot of notes and look at past exam questions if I had access to them - I used a lot of coloured pens / highlighters as well haha. I'm also super picky so I actually use grid paper instead of line paper bc I'm able to space out my work much better on grids 😂 Also try to get homework/projects done ASAP bc class content would still be fresh in your mind. Even if u can't fully start at least make a brainstorm/checklist. Good luck! 📚 |

Here's my study tip: set a timer and study with your full focus for as long as you can. As soon as you notice a distraction, stop the timer. This will be the length of your study sessions and take breaks for a little while (depends on the length of your study sessions) ⚠️PLEASE DONOT USE YOUR DEVICE IN THIS BREAK⚠️ you can stretch for a little while, relax and recap the concepts, or just reward yourself with a snack or anything else 🙂. After a few days or a week, extend the duration of your study session by 5 or 10 minutes and Don't forget to take breaks 👍 |

For example: if the length of your study sessions are 10 minutes long when you first tested your attention span, take a 2 minute break and extend the duration of the session when you feel like you're too comfortable with the 10 minutes 😀

I have followed Unjaded Jade on YouTube and she really helped me on studying. I'm using highlighters, writing in a organized way, studying without distractions, and try to be positive about it. 🙂 |

I don't know how I manage in school but I would put on music and have a fidget in my hand and I have no idea how that of all things worked but it did
