So, lately when I go to sleep sometimes I get the WORST anxiety over nothing. I'm talking hyperventilation, sobbing, and inconsolable horribleness. Plz help, I need coping tachniques.

I think I know why I experience it. Here are helps me is to listen to music (specifically relaxing/peaceful instrumental music). I also use a fan for white noise.

Here are some things that help me: -I listen to music (specifically relaxing/peaceful instrumental music). -I use a fan for white noise, and sometimes I have it on during the day to help block out other sounds. -I'm a christian so I pray and I use a daily devotion on an app called dwell every night that basically is like meditation but with bible verses. If your religious sometimes doing a short activicty according to your religion can help is what I am basically saying. -If I know I can't fall asleep I make a friendship bracelet because it gets my mind off of the anxious thoughts and eventually I become so tired that I fall asleep easily. -Sleep with a pet if you can or a stuffed animal, having something to cuddle is comforting -Use a stressball or something that you can fidget with (it can be counterintuitive and stop you from sleeping but other times it helps relieve stress) -Make your bedroom a relaxing environment as much as possible. -Use led lights, a night sky projector even just glow in the dark stars to give yourself something peaceful to focus on as you try to sleep. -Just cry, crying lets out your emotions, but don't hold in your emotions and let yourself break down alone. Ultimately if you really have a hard time sleeping talk to someone else in your life about it like your family, friends, a doctor, or another person you trust. |
