Yes my parents do go thru my phone not very often but they do. They go try it at night while I’m sleeping and I’m pretty sure they’ve only done it twice but they’ve done it during the day like once.

They used to a lot more but they stopped when I became 13. They would do it while I wasn't in the room and possibly while I was sleeping. But at some point they stopped I think and not sure why.

My parents have a ton of restrictions on my phone, and even my computer, and they go through it all the time. They don't do it as much now, but they used to... The last time they looked through my computer was probably 5th grade (I'm 15 now), and they go through my phone randomly. I don't have anything bad to hide, but I still don't like that they do that. If they truly trust me to make good decisions, they wouldn't feel the need to put parental controls or go through my stuff, so it's kinda hurtful that they feel like they have to monitor me every second.

@nev_m_07 i have a ton of restrictions too! i have youtube blocked and i can’t click on any links that take me to a website. i can’t download any apps without an approval message sent to my parents phone. and they still check my phone. i have nothing to bad to hide but i just want privacy! if you don’t trust me to have a phone then why’d you get me one?!? They found something on my phone the other day. it wasn’t bad but it was abt how i’ve been feeling lately and stuff and i don’t think they’ve looked thru it again😂 and the thing is the reason i have restrictions is bc of my older brother! when he first got his first phone he was caught watching “inappropriate” videos on youtube. they weren’t even that bad it was a comedian who said some Kinda questionable things. hopefully i’ll get them taken off while i still live at home and they pay my phone bill!

Not that I know of; but they’ll ask to see certain emails, will ask to read cards from others, and I had to tag my dad on messages with my friend for the longest time( male, I was a minor while he wasn’t). And I had to let them know before I called other guys( non minors).

My parents just check in once and a while and my computer has lots of restrictions but it helps me not create bad habits.

@tkd2010 that’s what I don’t understand… if they have all of these restrictions and know that I can’t do anything without them having to approve it, why do they still need to check it? Like there’s nothing I can do anyway 😂

I'm way past the age this would happen but my parents didnt monitor me at all. I only got the basic warnings like don't go to suspicious sites, never tell strangers your personal info etc and that was it
