tips to convince my parents to let me see my friends

my friends have planned a meet up in a few days, and i was excited and really hoping to go. I asked my parents and they said no, because the didn’t want to drive me there. I miss a lot of meetups and don’t want to miss this one especially because my summer vacation is going on. Any tips to help convince them? The meetup is the day after tomorrow so tips by tomorrow would be very appreciated!

is the meetup far from where you live? If any of your friends live nearby you can pitch carpool with your parents, where you can catch a ride with a friend and then your parents can do pick-up when the meetup is over? You can also reason with them that you aren't doing meetups that often so it's not that you're asking them to carry you out an unreasonable amount. Maybe also offer to do chores as a thanks? Hope you get to go out!

@Zaan_ 13 thanks for the tip! they live about 15 mins away from me so not too for, however the other people coming live 40 minutes away. I asked my parents again and they said i should just stay home with family and study even though that’s what i’ve been doing for the past 2 years in the pandemic. My dad just doesn’t want to drive me because he always drives me to my friends house when i do get to see them, i guess he’s sick of being the “driver” or so he says. i’ll try to ask about chores, thanks!

your parents are the exact opposite of me they literally try to stop me from studying cause i study a lot but maybe ask your parents first and then your friends if they could come over to your house so then your parents dont have to drive you every time you and your friends hang out like rotate whos house yall go to if that makes a

@PugCakePop // you should tell them that now that covid has chilled out a little bit, you would like to enjoy your social life, and that as long as you keep up with your studying, you should be allowed to see your friends. As long as you don’t completely forget to study and spend time with your family, I don’t see what’s wrong with seeing your friends every so often. 😊
