You can start her off on a chevron / candy-stripe bracelet! Let her choose her colours and you can make one with her so she can see how to do the knotsYou can also watch some youtube tutorials w her to see how quickly she is able to learn. After she understands the basics then you could get a bit more technical w things like segment knotting / straight edge / shaped bracelets Hope she enjoys it! 🤗🤗 |

Yeah i think start with something small and simple like candystripe/chevron. My (i think10-year old 2nd or 3rd) cousin wants me to teach her how to make bracelets but her and her family live MILES AWAY like way across he country so we'd have to use zoom and that seems complicated.😬 So If you're in person that will probably help. 🙂 If she sees you making bracelets a lot then she'll also kind of know what to do. you can learn a lot just by watching. I think it'd also help if you just start with basics like the type of knots to use, the order to use them in, the strings to knot them on and things and not go into other techniques quite yet, like shaped bracelets/beginnings /endings or fancy loops/ties. Also, it might help to start with yarn because it seems easier to unknot if you mess up (and hopefully won't knot up al the bottom so bad?). i dunno if any of that helps, but good luck! 😄

i started with the staircase to get the idea of knots down, then candy stripe + chevron

forgot to add the girls i taught how to make bracelets were 5-7 so way young. if they were older i’d start with candy stripe
