Ok so I am friends with this guy. We have been really good friends for a while now. I love him as a friend but maybe a tiny bit more then a friend but the smallest amount. So the problem is that everyone at school thinks we are dating or like each other and I tell them that we are not and it gets worse. Even my dad thinks we are dating and my mom thinks we act like siblings. What should I do? |

Sometimes the more you say no the more ppl believe it which can get annoying ik, but maybe just brush them off / be really uninterested and they'd eventually get over it and stop bothering you. I had a similar thing w my dad he thought I made a good couple with one of my friends too haha but I just denied it. If your dad is also joking about it then that may be a good sign bc it shows he approves of your friend dating you should it acc happen. How does your friend react to people telling him y'all are dating? You can try to talk to him and ask how he feels about all the assumptions. Maybe after there you can think about whether you'd wanna be more than friends or keep things the way they are. Good luck, it's great you have such a close friend regardless of everything else 😊 |

@61805327 i’m in the same type of situation, except the only reasons we aren’t dating is bc we both run xc and track(distance), so it’d be super awkward if we break up, and we don’t wanna lose each other as friends since we are really close, it’s easier said then done, but i just ignored them, and in like 2 years nobody cares who’s dating who unless someone cheated. idk what grade your in, but everyone cared in middle school, now i’m a high school sophomore and nobody other then my super close friends care, just wait it out, something new will happen and everyone will forget about y’all not dating
