heyy so I just want to hear from you guys about your high school AP classes you are taking or have taken to help with next year course signups. what would classes would you recommend or not recommend? I am open to every and anything

Ok so I’m a current junior in high school. I only take 2 AP classes 🙄 (I know, I feel like I’m slacking too) anyway, I take APUSH and AP Lang and I adore them. Honestly, they’re both a ton of work and I kind of work myself to the bone for them all the time, but at the end of the day, I’m willing to put the effort in because i have an interest in the class.

Now, AP classes vary by school, what might be considered a joke, easy-A AP at one school may be the most academically rigorous course at another, so it’s hard to say exactly what your experience might be.

Idk what happened to make my last post null but basically I just said at the end of the day, I think classes that interest you and demonstrate a level of you challenging yourself more each year is the most important part. Don’t push yourself to take APs just bc they’re APs. Take them Bc you want a more in-depth converse of the subject or the material

@chocochip thank you sm! I definitely get what you are saying. APUSH is very vigorous at my school and almost everyone is dropping out- but I am considering AP lang since honors is a challenge but I think I need more of a challenge.

Yes! Take AP Lang! Just a warning though, you’ll never be able to look at anything (speeches, commercials, articles again) without subconsciously analyzing every little punctuation mark. But it’s great class and I think of you want to challenge yourself in English it’ll be good for you

Currently taking APUSH and it's a lot of work, but so far has been manageable! I'd definitely recommend it!

@SummerBird thank you! the only thing that is holding me back from considering it is I am not as interested in specifically US history compared to world history. I feel like interest is a big part of AP classes and the interest is just not there😖😖 thank you for the rec though (:

@spleevy Yeah that makes total sense, its easier to do hard classes if you're actually interested in the subject. 😄I'm more of a world history than a US history person, but APUSH was the only AP class I had the option to take this year due to my school's scheduling. |

My 9th grade year I took Ap Human Geography and I really liked it. It was definitely A LOT of work but in the end I passed the test and it was worth it. I also made a lot of new friends! The only thing was the $90 fee. This made so I am no longer allowed to take AP because my parents refuse to pay lol but I definitely recommend AP if you think you can handle them.

So I am in 8th grade rn but I am registering soon for 9th grade. I’m already in advanced math but it’s still to easy and boring so I think I should take AP math but irk yet. Also I’m thinking maybe social studies bc I’m good at that and it’s fun
