So I’ve made bracelets for about a year and a half, and most of them are for other people. I don’t charge money for them even though I spend hours on each of them. Only 2 out of the like 15 people I’ve made bracelets for have worn them continuously or at least frequently. Everyone else has taken theirs off and have never worn it again. I know I shouldn’t really care, but it high-key hurts my feelings because I go out of my way to make something for them only for it to be thrown out or never worn. The last person I made a bracelet for took it off the day after I gave it to him, and I’ve never seen it around his wrist again. That bracelet took me four days to make. What the hell??

Yeah, I wouldn’t make bracelets for those people again until you see them wear them.My sisters do the same thing so I only give them stuff that takes only a little bit or something I’m already making for a challenge |

lmao I can relate, my family doesn’t wear the ones I make for them that much and I made a wall hanging for my sister that took months and stressed me out so much and I don’t think she hung it up. I’m not even sure if she brought it to college do

*im not even sure if she brought it to college 🥲 tbh it doesn’t bother me that much, I don’t use half of the things my family gets for me a lot of the time so I can’t really blame them lol

Lol. I feel you. Some people can’t get over how much they love it, some people don’t care that you spent hours. I made my brother a wall hanging for Christmas last year and he didn’t touch it the whole season. It sat in the bag. My other brother had the nerve to ask “it’s been here for so long? Do you even like it” and he just blushed. Not even yeah, or it’s fine. Just a blush. Then, this year, recently, I noticed it was hanging on his door handle 😁turns out he did like it when I asked him. I would be selective about who you make it for. Does the design directly relate to the person? Do they actually read enough to make them a bookmark? Do you think they have any place to hang up a bracelet, or would they wear it on the wrist? Etc.

I hate it when people do that! I spent 23 hours on a wall hanging and the person didn’t even care! I regret doing anything and I wish that people would appreciate more things. My sister claimed that no one appreciates, so I made her a big thing of bracelet a and keychains,. And guess what? She didn’t even appreciate what I did for her. I spent probably 24 hours all together and she never wore a single bracelet used a single keychain or wall hanging. I felt so bad about myself that I stopped making bracelets for a bit. I started back during quarantine, and decided that I would only make things for myself. But once I started back people wanted things again and for some reason I agreed. So now I’m sitting here making a 100 string pattern that the person probably won’t even like. I get so fed up with people. Do they really think that this is easy! Because it isn’t and people should probably think about that. They spent twenty minutes buying something off of Amazon, while you spent 20 hours on something that they don’t even care about! Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh! 😤

Hey man! I’m sorry you feel this way. Coming from a person who doesn’t like anything around my wrists, though, I can see why somebody may not want to wear them constantly. I have sensitive skin and it’s pretty hot in my country, so sweat starts to pool on any piece on fabric you wear, including brackets. Plus, bracelets are pretty! I wouldn’t want to dirty them… maybe it’s just me. Idk, just sharing my perspective. I think you gotta see if the person actually appreciates the effort. Sometimes, they like to keep bracelets as a decorative/ collectable object (like me). If my friend made me something, I would definitely cherish it, but I may not ‘use’ it. Most people who dont make bracelets also don’t understand how long it takes. So maybe that’s why they don’t think of it as a huge thing. If it hurts your feelings though, you should definitely tell them something about it. Don’t bottle your feelings up! And if you need anyone to talk my chat is always open ❤️ |
