Hey everyone 🌞 So I bought some second hand yarn but oc I didn’t check if they were a smoking household first. Unfortunately that yarn has a really strong cigarette smell to it. However, I don’t just want to throw it out, but I‘m not quite sure how to get rid of the smell. I assume just popping it into the washing mashine would leave some damage (tell me in case I‘m wrong tho). I also thought about hanging it outside to kinda let it air out. But maybe some of you have dealt with that (or something simular) before & can share your experiences (or just any good ideas you might have haha). Anyways, thank you in advance 🤍 |

It probably has at least subsided by now, but you could make yarn soup with some warm water and detergent, then let it air dry. My parents house is really bad too, so I've left things sit beside the front door until it stopped smelling. |
