hey so i want to come out to my fam (mom dad 3 aunts and one cousin no my aunts aren't gay) and teachers on monday the only problem with teachers are im a teacher's' kid so i have known these people my whole life but i want to tell them to use my prefered name and pronouns but i don't know how so help please

Once you tell your teachers you parents are going to find it out soon, tell your parents first, then your teachers. I think that before you talk to your teachers you should talk to your counselor at your school

@hellooooo i would talk to the councilor but it takes forever to get in to see her and i already have my own psychologist so idk what im gonna do

hiiii! so, to start off, I think it’s probably best to tell your parents first, and when it comes to teachers I think finding them after class and saying something like “hey, it’d be great if you could use *insert preferred name* instead of *dead name* and also use these pronouns instead of these when referring to me” and if you don’t want to actually talk to them, sending an email is always a great option. I don’t really think you need to go into any specifics if you don’t want to either just ask them to use your preferred name and pronouns. Hope this helps! Good luck! 💜

@bibean15that's a good idea i made a sign that says im non binary and hung it on my door my parents will see it when they get home and for the teachers that's what i was planning on |
