I don’t think it would be classified a sandwich, since a sandwich is meant to have more than 1 component (as in like solid components not counting sauce and mustard). But, honestly, it’s a question that confuses. It fits most of the qualities though.

nope😂 I did a college essay on the. The hot dog it’s self is a sausage. My cafeteria at school when we have hotdogs says “hotdog in a bun” so I used that as my reference in it

Hi! I personally think that it is like a hoagie because of the bun. You can put other things on it like a sub/hoagie. 😂 That's what I think. 👍

yes a hot dog is a sandwich because anything stuck between 1 or 2 pieces of bread is considered a sandwich (according to me)

I googled it and here is what I've found:According to Merriam-Webster, a sandwich is "two or more slices of bread or a split roll having a filling in between." The FDA's definition of a sandwich is "a meat or poultry filling between two slices of bread, a bun or a biscuit." Which they say excludes items like burritos, wraps or hot dogs since this refers to a *traditional closed-face sandwich* |

No because the bun is one piece of bread, and the sides are still attached to each other. (But by that logic, would a fold-over sandwich technically be a taco?)
