First which camp and second my advice is sleep away camp is great! You make new friend and do lots of fun stuff mine let’s you write letters and if yours does and you feeling homesick just write someone a letter you don’t hav to deliver it but you may find comfort in writing that letter

For packing I would recommend like one or two pairs of pjs, toiletries, a swim suit, at least one hoodie, how are her many shirts and shorts you need and a pair of shower shoes and a pair of like tennis shoes or chacos

Overnight camp is great. Don’t overpack! I overpacked my first year and didn’t use half of it, but I had a heavy bag to lug around when coming and leaving. Plan out outfits before packing and put them together, for instance, lay out clothes that match and fit in the guidelines for camp, and then pack that outfit together, it makes it so easy to just grab the next outfit instead of digging through your bag. I got homesick on the last two days my first time, my mom sent me letters and it made me miss home 😅 however, brining a journal, notebook or even writing your family a letter really helps. Where I go the counselors are really good with homesickness and helping each camper get closer to Jesus when there. I remember my first year, one of my cabin mates got really homesick, she was struggling with some family stuff, and the lead counselor came out and talked with her until she was feeling better. So if you ever need anything, chances are your counselor can and will help. Camp is the highlight of my summer. It’s super fun, and there’s nothing to worry about!

Also, pack in a way that your toiletries are easily accessible, and you can get what you need without having to unpack everything

Sleep away camp is the best! It is super fun and you will have a great time! It’s important not to stress yourself out thinking that it’s going to be bad, because that will just make you more nervous then you should be. For packing make sure you have sweatshirts and longer pants, because sometimes it is a little cold, and for homesickness put a picture of your family in your bag, or bring something familiar from home (blanket, stuffed animal, etc)

*bring books, coloring books, colored pencils, bracelet supplies, etc and not even use most of it 😂 like if you have stuff that you think you’ll need then bring it but don’t bring a ton of activities/crafts to do because you most likely won’t need a lot of it.

Just bring the essentials such as clothes and a toothbrush but for something to do bring something from your family to help you not be homesick and then like a book that’s what I do because it helps a lot

pack some photos of your siblings/pets and if phones arent allowed then totally bring a polaroid camera or something. bring envelopes and stamps to write letters home and a notebook to keep track of what you do every day. my advice is also to just do as much as possible and have a lot of fun! 😄

I got to a week-long camp here in GA and I like packing a bunch of bracelet supplies, including thread (duh) scissors, and something to undo knots with. Also definitely bring cheap $1 shower flip-flops, you do not want bare feet on those gross showers!!!! Also sheets for your bunk, a blanket, and a fan just to be safe. Bring water shoes too, my sister and I usually bring chicks and they do give you blisters but they are also multi-use for more then just water. Finally, bring books to distract you from your homesickness, a water bottle, and a little bag to carry around stuff (I.e bracelet stuff, water bottle, sunscreen, stuff like that. I recommend either a kavu or a nice multi-pocket back pack
