I am trying to teach my sister how to make bracelets and I think I’m about to loose it! I am currently teaching her the chevron and she isn’t understanding it. I’m also a control freak and a perfectionist so I’m having a VERY hard time letting her learn when I can’t help fixing every mistake she makes.

My sister is the same way...I would just have her follow the tutorials by mashaknots or kinsey b or alex innovations.

What I start with is teaching people how to make a chinese staircase bracelet. I have them make it with a forward knot and then make another with a backward knot. That way they can get used to doing those kinds of knots and kind of figure out their own flow. After that, I usually have them do the candy stripe bracelet and then start them off with reading and following chevron pattern while doing it with them. It can be frustrating letting them learn and make mistakes, just try your best to have patience 😊

I taught mine the candy stripe and it went pretty well. I think it’s easier to teach just one knot. I might have her make a candy stripe with just backward knots, then do a chevron. Her ultimate goal is just chevrons, so that makes it easier 😂 |

Also after the first few rows I started working on my own bracelet and only got up to help when she asked.That way you can’t see any mistakes |
