I’m reading the comments and am realizing my taste in books is way different then all of yours. Then again i was reading at a highschool level since elementary so of course my taste in books is more mature. The kind of books i red are adult novels and stuff but a good book is Touching Spirit Bear. I read it in english this year. Its a really good book and absolutely life changing. |

@Chaty_Chun well I also read higher level books but she asked for book recommendations for 10 year olds so I'm doing some that that average 10 year old might read

If you can get a hold of them (they are old books but there are usually tons at libraries and online libraries), the Baby-Sitters Club is a great series for 9-13 year olds. They are short and interesting stories about every topic, and none of them relate so you can read them in any order and it makes sense. I’m 13 and I love them and I’ve been reading them since I was around 10.

A mango shaped space by Wendy mass, sweet valley twins (you can usually find some at a thrift store) harry potter, the candy makers one and two, ps I like you by kasie west (that ones about love, and for a slightly more mature audience, but I'm also ten and I read it and there wasn't anything bad except one kiss) out of my mind by Sharon draper, blended by Sharon draper, a whole mother story by Dr. Cuthbert soup, fish in a tree, one for the Murphy's, the penderwicks series, meg jo Beth and Amy, Percy jackson, the babysitters club, Jeremy fink and the meaning of life, and wonder. Sorry if I named too many, there are just a bunch of books I read and loved and would totally recommend. Can you tell I like reading, haha.

Red Butterfly by A.L. Sonnichsen (I think I was ten or eleven when I read it). It's a free-verse poetry book about a girl living in China during the one-child policy. It is one of the few books that has made me cry. Out of the Dust. Historical Fiction novel about a girl living on a farm during the dust bowl. It is also a free-verse poetry book and sad. The Remnant Chronicles by Mary Pearson. Fantasy/Romance trilogy. The first book is The Kiss of Deception, but the whole series might be long depending on the type of books you read. Might be a little mature, I'm not sure how old I was when I read it. (You may want to research it if you are interested) The Night Gardener by Jonathan Auxier. Slightly spooky story about a sister and brother who go to work for a family that lives in a big house in the woods. I remember reading this at night and being genuinely scared. The Tequila Worm by Viola Canales. Coming of Age story about a Mexican-American girl and her family.\ The Chronicles of Narnia. Fantasy, the story follows the Pevensie children mainly, but there are a few different protagonists who go to Narnia. The Horse and his boy is mainly a novela of the series and is only needed if you want extra worldbuilding knowledge. It was my least favorite of the series. The Hobbit. it was much better than the movies |

(i read most of these when i was 7/8/9, as ive always been quite a mature reader, so most of these should be ok for you 😊)

I really like the keeper of the lost cities series, written by Shannon messenger. I also really liked wonder. Miss peregrine’s home for peculiar children is also very good.
