This isn’t to important, but im curious. How are patterns being drifficulty-ranked?

I don't know exactly how patterns are difficulty-ranked, but I suspect it's something to do with number of strings, number of fb and bf knots, number of colours (for an alpha), etc. However, I have noticed that only some patterns are ranked, and usually older patterns and alphas. The majority of patterns don't appear to have a difficulty-rating.

hey! the difficulty-ranking feature is no longer used on newer patterns i think because the difficulty of a pattern is pretty subjective. patterns could be hard for some people, but easy for others. i’m not sure how difficulty was measured for older patterns, but i agree with the previous user that factors such as size, number of colors, and number fb and bf knots probably played into determining the difficulty rating of the pattern. 🙂
