I'm eleven, I identify as female, and I don't have a job. I have been using this website for a little over a year. In the beginning, I didn't know how to use it, so then I went into a long slump. I started using it again in December and now I know how to do everything. I don't mind the size of the community, because as a whole. everyone is really nice. I love that you can share photos and videos for everyone to see.

Hello! here are the answers to your wonderful questions! I wish you luck on you paper!

How old are you? I am 12 years old
What gender do you identify as? I identify as female (she/her)
If you have a job, what is it? I don't have a job (idk if this counts but I do babysit sometimes)
How long have you been using BraceletBook? I have been using bracelet book for about 9 months
How has your experience been using BraceletBook? Has it changed at all since you first joined? I love bracelet book everyone on here is super nice and fun to talk to. Nothing really has changed on here since I joined other than a new rank called "super moderator" but nothing else has changed.
Do you like or dislike the large size of the BraceletBook community? Why, or why not? I love the large community here because it is like a big family. We are all united as a big family and wee all like the same thing which I think is wonderful.
What is your favorite/least favorite aspect of BraceletBook? My favorite aspect of this is ether the forum or the chat. I love to talk to people and help them in the forums and the chat is fun because we can all just chill and talk to each other which is very fun. My least favorite aspect is rating peoples patterns. I dislike this because all of peoples patterns are great and they shouldn't have a low rating, they are all amazing patterns! Also I do not like the political side of things here because people argue and they just should keep it a fun and happy environment.

Have a great day and I hope this helped!

I’m 12, I’m a female, not old enough to get a real job but I have babysat. I’ve been using BraceletBook for a little less than a year, and I really like it! people are supportive and willing to help you. I thought the same thing when I first joined. I really like the size of the BraceletBook community, because you know that someone will always respond or reach out. My favorite part is definitely the forums and people are really open.

What gender do you identify as?
Female

If you have a job, what is it?
Safety, Training and Communications Coordinator but I still sometimes do Dispatch shifts if we're shorthanded.

How long have you been using BraceletBook?
Over 9 years

How has your experience been using BraceletBook? Has it changed at all since you first joined?
I've always loved Braceletbook and the community here. The site and the community have changed considerably though- It's grown massively for one, which in turn has made it much more active but everyone has always generally been nice and welcoming. I've seen the 'moderator' team go from one individual to a different individual to the full-on team we have today! I've seen features added and changed - Variations for instance never used to be a thing, neither were patterns with spaces and carrying strings. I saw the era of alpha bracelets transitioning from two-tone patterns only to the multi-colour masterpieces here today and the surge in people in the forums trying to figure out that technique and so many other techniques - triangle ends, flat alpha, straight edges - the list goes on as the trends have changed throughout the years. I was also here through a lot of the old drama between the two main bracelet sites.

Do you like or dislike the large size of the BraceletBook community? Why, or why not?
I love that more and more people are joining the hobby! The innovation being introduced into the community I think is higher than ever before - take a minute to scroll through pictures - visit a few people on their Instagram pages and you're sure to see someone using a new technique or pushing the boundaries of what's previously been done with their patterns and knotting. I do think with the large numbers there's become more of a competitive push for the different rank titles that I don't remember being quite as intense before. I think that results in a lot of posts that are well intended but don't always answer a person's question correctly as it seems the time wasn't actually taken to fully read their post but that may just be me noticing that, as it's kind of a pet peeve of mine! haha! Also with its new size comes more differing opinions on things, particularly political and social issues that we never really saw much of in the forums and chat before, most of the chatter was generally entirely bracelet related or hobby related, sometimes delving into fandoms and forum games. This can be both a negative and a positive at times.

What is your favourite/least favourite aspect of BraceletBook?
I love being able to connect with people all around the world that enjoy the same hobby as I do! I don't have anyone in my life currently that knots other than myself so Braceletbook is a crucial part of my crafting network!

MODERATORS ONLY QUESTIONS:

How long have you been a moderator?
Since September of 2019! Masha was first by about a week I think! haha!

Do you enjoy the higher position of being a moderator and have you had any struggles with the position?
I love being able to give back to a community that I really do love! I, unfortunately, as of late, haven't been able to dedicate as much time as I would like to it but I try to squeeze a little in when I can and I still try to answer my messages as much as possible and participate where I am able.
The main thing I think I might consider a struggle is how mentally draining it is to sort through arguments on patterns and in forums when they occur, particularly when they crop up around politically charged topics. Those are the most difficult because as a moderator there are so many things to consider and weigh with each click all while trying to stay as objective as possible - where is the line between protecting our younger users and censoring conscious debate? Where is the line between debate and argument? When does it need to be shut down and when can it continue? Making those decisions is sometimes really tough, especially knowing that there's the possibility you might see it on blast while browsing your social media the next day or in your messages. Braceletbook is a vast community that ranges from children all the way up to adults from different countries and cultures and ethnic backgrounds all around the world and it's very difficult at times to figure out a way to please everyone. It's exactly what we're here for but it can definitely be draining at times. Luckily it's generally not an everyday occurrence and I can happily say that most of my time as a moderator has been enjoyable!
