What should I do for background color?? Help!

So I'm making pattern #20598 for a friend's birthday...but I don't know if I should use a blue background or just a nice simple white...opinions?? 😛

I think either would look really nice, but a blue would make it pop a little bit more.

I would say a light blue!! the white blends together too much so i think the blue would really help make it pop
