I've been wanting a mouse for quite a bit now, but I have a few questions and concerns. If I were to get a mouse, I'd have to buy a store bought one, as I have no breeders near me. I would like to have a male mouse as I only want one, and am aware that females need to be in groups. Also I've heard that mice can develop tumors, is this common? If so, if I got a store bought male mouse, what are the chances of it developing a tumor? I'm very concerned about this, and am rethinking my choices. Please help me! 😢

Hey! I would recommend finding a animal shelter if there is one around you but if not store bought sounds fine. I read mice develop tumors as they age and it’s like a 50-50 chance (please correct me if I’m wrong, this is just the research I found). of course there is always the chance because you don’t know the background on these animals. I wouldn’t say don’t get one just because you are afraid of medical issues because I heard mice are fun pets. Make sure to do research on how to shelter then and the right food to give them.

@Btw I owned 2 hamsters and have 2 guinea pigs, all from animal shelters.
