Just say hi to hi, and make small talk. Ask him to hang out at lunch with you if he doesn't have any friends. Don't be too enthusiastic about it though. If you see him in the hallways, just smile. Then let him talk to you the next time. Make sure that you're not the one that keeps approaching him, unless he's shy. GOOD LUCK!! 🙂
