My friends keep asking me to make them bracelets, but I don't have time to make all of them. I want to make bracelets for my friends when I want to make them. What should I do?

I like to make a special bracelet for my friends' birthdays. Sometimes I would also make them as holiday gifts. But otherwise, I just asked them to commission me to make them. That way they value my hard work more than if I just gave them out to everyone who asks.

Totally get it, ppl ask me too! I usually say yes but if they're a little too eager for it I say back off. Obviously you're talented so to do so u r allowed to charge them!!!! But u can do what u feel is right

I honestly think if your being pressured say no... but if it's a really good friend I would probably do it. But if I'm busy I would say no. But idk I've never been asked that sadly... 🙁

I actually had someone want a bracelet so bad they took the one I was making for my sister off my clipboard while i was working on it and tie it to their wrist. So my policy now is to not offer or agree to make one and just give them one when i have the time to get it done

That has basically happened to me before I get so annoyed when people pressure me to make bracelets 4 them and then if I try to charge they will be like “‘I’m not paying it’s a FRIEND Ship BRACELET” and I’m like it just a stupid name! Aghhhh

Tell them that you don’t have a lot of time, but if they want it soon tell them they have to pay. I had this problem. I made like 20 bracelets for my friends at the beginning of The school year!

I give bracelets to friends for birthdays and birthdays only- unlessssss... it’s a bracelet that I’m making that I don’t want and they REALLY love. I also did some for family for Christmas

I think u should only make them bracelets if it’s their bday or if it’s the holidays. Other than that then u should charge them for it. Charge them depending on how many strings there are. 🤗

@impersonat I feel you, I was in the same situation, try using a planner and tell them when you will do it. If you don't have enough time to make all of them even then they usually forgot, but I can't say no so I always try and do as many as I can. Another solution that I do is be honest tell them "I have a lot of orders for bracelets, so can you remind me in like a month?" 😄YW Message me if you need further help.

I only charge if I have to make it custom or they aren’t my good friends. I give away the ones I already have made.

This is such an old thread and I’m not sure why it’s revived but it may be helpful to other users so I’ll leave my experience anyways lol 😂 when I was in school everyone would ask for bracelets -friends or not, so I started telling people that my mum buys my string and I wasn’t allowed to give it away anymore because it was getting too expensive to make everyone things for free. I’d give my closer friends bracelets for their birthdays but that excuse stopped the ‘general populous’ from harassing me everyday.

I have the exact same problem, especially when I want to bring my wips and knot at lunch, everyone asks me for one. This might be a bit rude to some people , but I usually say, I don’t have enough thread to make so many.
