I was just at Michael's getting some string and I noticed that DMC has a different type of string called Satin and its really shiny. It's over $1 a skein and I wanted to know if anyone here uses it? Is it worth the extra money? DMC also makes a multi-color or variegated style and they were almost $2 a skein! Anyway, are they worth it? Do they make really great bracelets? Thanks 🙂 |

I have never used them, but they do seem like good string but I would only use that type for special bracelets.

I got some and tried it out and its ok. The knots it makes are bigger than the knots the regular string makes. I did a bracelet with all regular string and then I used 2 strands of the Black Satin DMC string and everytime I used it to make a knot it was like 2x bigger than all the other knots. Plus the knots don't stay tight. I had to keep going back and tightening the last knot I made with it. But it was pretty when I was done, I used it for pattern #8141 and I added 2 pictures. The Satin Floss is the black string. |😲

Satin is really slippery a but it makes the bracelet real soft shiny and sort of stretchy....If you are doing it sell then generally it worth it but they wear faster... |

I don't like DMC thread because they split a lot for me. I make a lot of mistakes so thats probably why 😂 😂
