Hi! I'm just curious if any of you have ever made bracelets with your friends? I'm planning on doing it with a couple of my friends at a small get together or zoom but I'm a little nervous that it might be boring. My friends have never made bracelets before and knotting takes a long time to finish. Do you guys have any suggestions or tips on what patterns could be cool, etc.?

Since they’ve never made bracelets before, I would recommend showing them how to make a chevron. If you’re scared that it will be boring, you can show them how to do a loop and demonstrate the first few rows, then they can watch a tutorial if they want to finish it on their own. You can also show them some of your bracelets to get them inspired.

I knotted with my friend who is also on this site, she doesn’t use it anymore really and I said how I used it as a social media thing kinda and she was like I don’t rly use it as a social media but on the inside, I think she thought I was crazy 😂

If any of my friends actually liked bracelets I’d be extremely happy. I tried teaching my sister who is 10 and her younger friend but neither understood or did it good. My new school friends all said they have made the basic bracelets but I didn’t really have any time to do so with them. And my other sister can make the Chinese staircase but otherwise she’s lazy and doesn’t want to do so with me

I actually did that with my very crafty friend who had never made bracelets, so we talked while we knotted, and we listen to different music so we each pick a song and switch back and fourth. Sorry if that didn't make sense

@2006_Mandy I know right, I feel like knotting with someone would be so fun. I've also tried teaching my sister but she doesn't really like it either and so I'm hoping that my friends will. But since we're all kind of cooped up inside right now, hopefully you can ask your friends to make some bracelets with you as well 🙂

@avacodo7 Nice! it's cool how you guys can multitask while making bracelets. I can barely listen to an audiobook while knotting because I'd fumble over the knots so bad 😂

@smolhands me and my friend had a sleepover and she asked me to show her how to do it bc she had a TON of string. So, i showed her how to make a candy stripe and then showed her braceletbook and taught her how to read normal patterns and the best youtube channels to watch and it wasn't boring at all! We also had a movie going on in the background for background noise, you know?

I had a small group do it over zoom with me. I gave them a link to the bracelet video for a candystripe, and then answered any questions if they had any and just talked. Super fun!!
