Knotting pet peeves

I know that this thread has been done before multiple times, but I'm using it as an excuse to vent. Let me know some of your personal pet peeves because I really do find them entertaining to read.I'll share some of mine: - It bothers me very much when people ask me to make a bracelet for them and expect me to make it for them for free. I'm more than happy to make something for you if you're my friend, but if we aren't that close and you expect me to just put my current project down in order to make you something then that's where I start to get annoyed. - In tandem with my previous statement, it grinds my gears when people get mad at me when I ask for payment. They'll either try to negotiate the price down or state the typical, "I can make that myself!" I'm not going to lie, bracelets can be rather expensive, but I just find it annoying that people disregard the hours of work and dedication and materials required to make something by hand. - When a store's supply of embroidery floss or crochet thread is depleted. For some reason, I can never find any pure white string. - When you're working with a long strand of string and whilst knotting, small knots develop at the end of it so you don't notice until quite a population of knots and tangles form. - Having to undo a knot, but not having anything sharp to do it with. - When the scissors are dull and they end up fraying the string instead of leaving a crisp, clean cut. - When you mix different embroidery floss brands and the textures of the strings are different. This one isn't all that bad, it's just a strange sensory experience while knotting. Most of these are really petty, but I think that the pith of all of this is that I wish people would recognize that bracelet making is a form of art and that it takes time and patience, and that bracelet makers deserve a little more respect than what we're usually given. |

-having to unknot alphas-pretty much making alphas because I easily make too many/too little of the knots i need and colour switching takes forever -having to add in more thread -cutting the threads -running out of the thread i need and failing to find more in stores -loosing my bracelets -being made fun of because i sit in my room all day and make bracelets |

I don't really have this problem a lot anymore but when I very first started making bracelets I got the really cheap friendship bracelet thread from walmart and it always would break when I was in the middle of a bracelet! It was always so annoying. Also @2006_Mandy I hate when people say that braclelet making is just a waste of time...honestly at least I am finding something else to do besides look at my phone all day lol.

@Kaylee you legit just named everything iw as gonna write. Going to the thread department in Walmart and finding all the gross brown colors left and not even a regular nice red or a white is superrrrr triggering. AND DULL SCISSORS... and it wont cut and then your string gets ruffled and your string starts to unravel.... OH and when you best friend asks for a bracelet at school and your'e like "Sure!" and other people start asking expecting it be free and they want it the next day. Like who do you think i am. I got school and other stuff. Glad other people feel this frustration!

with the first one i have a small business on depop where i sell my bracelets. a close friend wanted one and i sold it for $5 on the app but i told her she could for $4 bc she’s a good friend and when i went to give it to her she left $1 on the porch and said to leave it in the mailbox. later that night she said that she didn’t have the money and would pay me soon, so the next week i asked for the money (and ik $3 isn’t a big deal but it could help a bit with gas and stuff) and she said that she still doesn’t have the money and that the bracelet broke. but a few hours later she posted on social media and the bracelet was fine and she said she wants her money back. like miss girl
