So i bought 14 count aida cloth for my cross stitch, and when i looked it up, it said to use two strands of thread. Do they mean one string folded in half to create two or two strings folded in half? And in a kit, when they say to use like 2 strings, does it mean one string folded or two strings?????

Idk please help meh

i usually seperate embroidery thread into two individual strands!! (there are usually six strands in one embroidery thread). i recommend DMC embroidery thread for embroidery and cross stitching 🙂

By 2 strings it means to separate the strands in the embroidery thread most will have 6 and you will need to take 2 of those strands out to use.

It means you need to take two of the strands of the tread!

most people will bury the end of their thread in their stitches instead of knotting the ends, or if you have an even number of strands, fold each singular strand in half to make a loop knot. So depending on how you wish to start your project you'll either need to sepparate two individual strands, or fold 1 in 2!

Since you're new to cross stiching here's a guide on multiple ways of starting a project, and a guide on basic cross stitching techniques!
