Hi, is it just me or are there patterns being accepted that seem to be unfinished, simple, or too similar to other patterns? I am not trying to be mean or anything like that but I have been noticing a bunch lately and I am wondering if I am the only one. 🙂

Yeah I've been noticing the same thing. I think it's hard for the moderators to have set guidelines for too simple patterns, and it's easy to miss patterns that look similar to another. I do agree with you that I've been seeing a lot of that lately, but I also feel like the moderators have a lot of work as it is, so I don't really care to much 🙂

Ya me too. I go a pattern being denied for being too simple. The same day a pattern made with the alpha from text generator got accepted.

yeah but i mean the mods have a lot of do on bracelet book. I mean i was making a series of holiday patterns and made a canada day one i went to make a similar st patricks day one and it was declined for being to simple. I ended up starting a full alphabet for that one but i still felt odd that they were similar yet one got accepted and one got declined.

@rubisaa11 @ks_wizard @2006_Mandy ok. I know we are now at 50000 plus patterns and thats a lot of pattern go through but the # has gone down and they aren’t as swamped with thousands to go through. I see where you are coming from and I know all of them have a life but I still feel like the rules got stricter with the pattern increase and now thats over and those rules are left forgotten. I am not trying to be rude or anything of that sort, I am just trying to present feedback. Thanks if you read this, I love the mods here (and i have nothing against them at all), I just wanted to share my concerns as a user and try to help out 🙂

I was literally just looking through some of the newest patterns and thought it odd that some fairly simple patterns were being accepted. I’m glad someone else noticed it too. I know the mods are trying their best, but it seems that they are being slightly less intense with the rules now the patterns to be reviewed have gone down.

hi! 😄 I have noticed this, I am pretty sure it depends on the mod, the complexity level of what they accept may differ. Also, beginner pattern makers may make simpler patterns and have not browsed the site enough to know super similar patterns. Hope this helps! 😍

Yeah! I noticed this too! Some moderators might be picking favorites. 🙁 Or if its a theme they don't know about they decline it.

We moderators try to be as consistent as possible when accepting and declining patterns. When we are unsure about something we ask the other moderators for feedback.Still some moderators might accept patterns that other moderators would have declined. We have guidelines that we follow and we all try to follow them as well as possible but applying these guidelines isn't always easy. For example simple word patterns: when does a pattern stop being a simple word pattern? How much additional details are needed to make it not a simple word patterns. In cases like this it is difficult to decide. |
