So I use the DMC embroidery floss for my bracelets and just learned that they have a glitter floss selection as well. The string does look rougher than the string I usually use. Has anyone ever used the glitter line before? If so, are they harder to work with? And how do the patterns come out? Thanks!!

personally I think any glittery thread can be harder to use. I use the summer nights brand and have no problem but plain glittery threads usually are hard to work with or thicker than most thread so I guess I have been using craft cord but I tend to tie knots on the ends and rarely use it as my glittery threads are thicker than my embroidery floss and i just need to use my glittery thread less or it will get too confusing for me. In general I don't like working with some brands but dmc is an amazing brand and as long as the glittery line isn't too thick or hard to work with you should be fine. generally I like to shop in store and not online for glittery threads that way i know what type of glittery thread it would be like. If you think dmc glittery thread is good then try it or maybe start with one skein and see how it works out for you. 🙂

Ooh I think I know what you're talking about!! (I'm pretty sure it's called etoile) I've been wanting to try it too, but haven't had the chance yet. From the looks of the pictures I think it should work well with regular embroidery floss. I think the string might look rougher because it's a little puffy. My guess is that the string would contract when you make knots with it and it would end up the same size as embroidery floss knots. I don't think the knots would be puffy either. If I go to the craft store soon and get some, I'll be sure to let you know how it turns out 😊

This is generally tough string to work with and it tends to separate at the ends I suggest tying a small knot at the end of each strand of floss so it doesn’t unravel
