Crazy idea, has anyone ever tried to make an alpha with thick yarn in order to make a blanket? Am I dumb for thinking this is an uncommon thing? How do I do??????

I have not personally ever heard of this technique before, but I am sure it is doable if you really are interested! I would use some REALLY thick yarn, so it does not take a super long time, but I am interested to hear if you end up trying it!

Yeah I’ve thought about this too, but never actually seen it done. You’d probably want to tie loose knots, because maybe this is just me, but I feel like it would become very tight and stiff. It would be really cool if you had the time and materials though 🙂

You should definitely try and do that!! I'm sure the finished product would turn out super cool 😎

Personally it sounds like a cool idea but I don’t think it would turn out right. I think that the best yarn for blankets are baby yarn and that yarn wouldn’t be able to knot like embroidery thread. You could try making squares of alphas and then make a collection and sew them together. That would look super cool
