background string for tapestry

For the background color for a big tapestry how much of that color would I need because I get packs that just have like one or maybe two of each color and I don’t want to have to get more string just for a tapestry unless I really need to

You will be needing a lot of string for that so I recommend looking for some crochet yarn as close in size to the thread you are using and then cutting a lot of string as the pattern is like 60 by 70 which will use a lot
