DO you guys get confused when your base strings are the same color as you leading strings? If so do you do something to not get confused, like tie a knot at the end of the leading string?

I don't really get confused, because as I am knotting I don't really think about it as the leading strings tends to stay in my hand from one knot to the next.When I stop to take a break, however, I do tend to make sure that the leading string is up out of the way (flipped over the top of the clipboard) from the base strings, just incase I do have a moment where I get them mixed up, Lol. |

I do sometimes. I have a spool of white string that’s tougher than the floss i use for my base so I have to really go by what the string feels like.

I either leave the leading string on the skein, or get a colour I don't need in the pattern for the base strings.

I use any extra string as base stings so they are all different colors. If you don’t want that than instead of cutting the leading string, keep it in the bobbin so it is easier to see what is the leading string. That’s what I do personally but I hope this helped!❤️❤️

My base strings are generally not of the same color as my leading string. I tend to choose some other shade of the color I'm using. If the color of my leading string is white, then the color of the base string in my case would be another shade of the dominant color in the pattern I'm doing (excluding the background). Sometimes, especially if the base strings are the same colour of another string i need to do the colour switch with but i usually recognize them by the length, the base strings are usually shorter for me
