So i have been thinking about being a foreign exchange student. Have any of you been a foreign exchange student, and how was your experience?

i'm not a foreign exhange student but I know that the ones from my school have a program that they go through by talking to the school, if anyone who is a fes that sees this, I also have a question:If I'm going to live in another person's house do they always send another kid for exchange or can it be one way? |

When I was in 5th grade my school had an exchange with a school in Spain for the 5th graders for 2 months and my bsf went and we tried to host an exchange students but she was really rude and she TRASHED my room in the first week so for the rest of the time she stayed at another family’s house that she knew but most of the rest of the exchange students were really nice and yes it can be one way, my school also had an exchange with a school in Costa Rica and only students from my school went over there so ya

I haven't been on one, nor do I know anyone that has done it however if I was given the opportunity I would go for it! It would be such a great way to meet new people, learn about the country's culture and practice your language skills.

For us there’s one that’s by rotary. Depends actually cuz the ones that went to my school didn’t enjoy it after a while (I mean I can’t blame them they were kinda rowdy and my classmates didn’t like them because of it) one was sent home months before they were suppose to leave since she was out of control.

But the ones from my school who were exchanged in other countries enjoyed it. Actually I feel like it’s a good experience. You learn a language and a different cultures and you get to meet more people. I’d say go for it.

I just looked it up and I didn’t know that CISV was the exchange program, my school did it within the school that I went to and the school in Spain, not a program I don’t think
