Trying to get to the bathroom between classes is the worst 😑 but other than that, not really haha. Just do what you love and be open to making new friends! Good luck 💞

don't date upperclassmen, do your homework, and don't walk slowly in the hallways

I'm an upcoming sophomore and here are some things you should do 1. walk quickly through the hallways and walk the way of traffic ( if people are walking one way on one side follow the direction there walking idk if that makes sense but still )' 2. be polite and if possible make friends with your teachers 4. don't start drama 5. don't date upperclassmen ( i mean you could but that's most of the time a disaster ) 6, this is common sense but don't get in with the wrong group of people 7. the band life motto is " to be early is to be on time to be on time is to be late" if you can get to class early do it it will give you more time to get settled and you can always work on other classwork before the class starts 8. schoolwork before plans extracurriculars etc. 9. don't put anything off till the last minute 10. if you can and want to try joining some extracurriculars 11. ask all questions no matter how stupid they may sounds because 50% of the time your peers have the exact same question 12. keep notes neat and organized this helps with binder and notebook checks that some teachers might do and make it easier for you to study come exams, test and quizzes 13. freshman year is when you try to get all your required classes done so if you notice that there is a problem with the schedule contact your guidance counselor or who is in charge of that 14. if there is the chance of extra credit take it no matter what grades can drop quickly ( i have a bunch more and you can always message me if you want to talk about anything or have any questions) |

Make new friends, join extracurricular activities/sports teams, organize your time (make a timetable) and don't do your homework and projects last minute.

Please don’t put too much pressure on yourself! It’ll be a lot more stressful but it’s ok to take breaks and go easy on yourself

oh also! It’s really okay to ask for help, especially from your teachers. Sometimes life is just hard and messy, and it’s soooo nice to have a teacher or two that you can talk to. Teachers teach because they care and want to know and help you! 😊

Get a planner and use it!!!! Organize your notes or handouts by class with folders, same for digital stuff. Keep your google drive and computer files organized. Be prepared and have a plan for online schooling, get a nice background, clean your room etc. because most of us will have to go through it. Get Grammarly if you can, it is a life saver

It’ll be over before you know it. So don’t take it all ultra seriously, and have some fun.

don’t believe the myth that freshmen year “doesn’t count”! the classes you take and the grades do matter! try to stay organized and do your hw! if you’re distance learning remember to stretch here and there to get the blood flowing! and also know that your friend group might not stay the same in the end, but that’s okay! be open to new things especially if they help you! and it may sound huge but it’s never too early to start planning for college and what you wanna do! last but not least - take care of you and your mental health. time flies by very quickly and it may seem too much all at once. take a breather here and there. it’ll work out in the end!

Expand your social circle? I think it’ll be great if you have people to rely on.

it really depends if you are going to a large or small school. i go to a small school so but here’s some tips; be nice to your teachers, don’t be afraid to ask for help or email people/ teachers, don’t go to the bathroom in between classes it becomes a “party” and just have fun and believe in yourself!! good luck
