I live in Massachusetts, and my school has decided to give the students the choice of fully online or fully in person (each person can decide for themselves). There are about 3,400 students at school where a typically classroom is 30kids. Im interested to see how many students return back to school and how the curriculum will differ between online and in person. I will be choosing to go back to school.
How is everyone feeling about college applications and majors? Im not sure what I want to major in, and I feel like thats the one thing that if I did know, I would feel so much better and prepared for college.

@Meghan_J24 I that’s crazy that all the districts aren’t on the same page.... but I totally understand the stress of just wanting everything to be over

@karla27 your school seems big. How many are graduating out of the 3,400? There’s only 77 seniors in my school so 🤷🏻‍♀️ as far as college apps I’m a first gen so I’m extremely nervous and confuse and super stressed idk where to start

@dannyb354, there are about 750-800 students that will be graduating. Hows it like having a small graduating class? Has it influenced you to want to go to a smaller university or larger one? I'm a first gen too!

Going into my senior year of college! I’m terrified because I have no idea what I’m doing after graduation. I’m also nervous because pretty much every event on campus has been cancelled, including all sports, so I’m nervous about not having much of a community🙁

@karla27 well I’m more focused on which campus are providing my major of interest but I’d say a bigger campus is really scary but because I’ve been taking college classes at the same time I feel like I’ve experienced somewhat of a bigger class size if that makes sense

@grcleven that’s what made me extremely sad as well I don’t get to have the senior experience not that high school was anything like high school musical 😂 but still it’s like the last year of being a teen

@madeleine_ what would you recommend to someone who is undecided on a major/ has vastly different thoughts about majors ex. medicine vs. linguistics

@karla27 This might not be doable, but if you’re able to decide what you want you’d career to be, or even just which field you want to work in, you can decide your major from there. At the end of my junior year, I actually went on the collegeboard website and looked at different careers, and decided that I want to be a lab technician. There are several majors that would work for that (chem, bio, physics, etc) but I chose biology because in high school I enjoyed bio much more than the other science classes I took, and I also took a lot of bio-related classes. But I know that not everyone figures out exactly what they want to do before college, so if you don’t know yet, you can try to decide which subject you enjoy the most and then go with that major. I recommend going to bigfuture.collegeboard.org/majors-careers to explore different majors and careers. Sorry if this wasn’t very helpful

i haven’t even been looking forward my senior year ): were completely distance learning until our county isn’t on the watch list. the thing about my school is that we have an enormous amount of school spirit and pride, and since i’m in leadership, i know that we appreciate the seniors and make them feel proud in themselves for making it. it just sucks that i won’t know that feeling for myself any time soon. i even play volleyball which is in the fall, but now i’m not even sure i get to play that my last year. i’m still trying to be optimistic and hopeful and our class is still trying to act as normal as possible, but it is proving to be very difficult. sorry i didn’t mean to sound like such a downer 😂 just needed to vent a bit. we’re still trying to make the most of what we got tho!

I’ve been a “senior” twice (no I didn’t fail😂) . Cuz they’ve recently established grades 11-12 in my country less than 10 years ago. Before that, grade 10 was the last year of highschool then college was next. So in my old school grades 11-12 were separated and was called senior highschool. 7-10 was junior highschool which was where the freshmen-seniors were. Then after grade 10 I transferred to a different school whose freshmen year started at grade 9. That’s how I’m getting the senior year twice.

@MozzaStix oh noooo lol i love in america. in my state, cases are rising. my state is one of the ones that became a little too relaxed, and then cases spiked. i’m at a small private school so it is a little safer there, but public schools in my area are opening up. some are opening up late while one is offering an online option for students not comfortable with physically going. my school however is just like “hope y’all don’t get corona”😅😂

I’m class 2022 but our school is letting you choose whether you would prefer to do remote, in person, or a mix of both.
