so, mine’s a bit different than everyone else’s haha. about two years ago, i was doing a suicide awareness day at my school. i wanted to make some bracelets to hand out to my friends. i was looking around craft stores, and then i found a friendship bracelet kit. i started out with a single colored candy stripe, and i went from there! now i make alphas, normals, and shaped bracelets. i’ve made a lot of progress with both my mental health and my bracelet hobby.

I started because my sister was given string and she wasn't interested in friendship bracelets so she gave it to me and I started making them since it was fun and I always though they were cool to look at🙂

I started when someone got me a bracelet kit as a gift. I did a few, but I was really young and I did not have a long attention span. Then in March, I found this website and I thought it would be fun to try some. Then I thought it was so much fun and now I'm selling them!

I had come across a youtube video on how to make a chevron and i thought it was pretty so i started making chevron bracelets. I simply got bored of making them so left bracelet making and found a new hobby. Two months ago I found youtube channels full of bracelet tutorials, and then I started making bracelet again!

3 years ago, I had horrible pain and was stuck in the hospital for days before they realized I needed emergency surgery. For the next 2 months I couldn’t really do anything. I received a friendship bracelet kit as a gift and it had a book with a few simple tutorials. I started making some simple bracelets like braids, chinese staircases, and mixing of both. I have no diagnosis, so no way to stop these things from happening so I’ve had several other emergency surgeries but recovery was shorter since we knew what was happening and I didn’t need to sit there for days. Anyways after every surgery it gives me time to focus on new bracelets and I’ve gotten much better!

I started making friendship bracelets when I was about 8 at summer camp and one of the counsellors taught me how to make a Chinese stair case and I just stopped making them after about a month because they got boring and I thought it was the only pattern then when I went back the next year one of my friends that I met there she taught me how to make a Candy Stripe

Mines pretty rubbish but I always knew that string bracelets were a thing, as someone gave me one a few years ago,, and at the beginning of quarantine I got really into embroidery, long story short I ended up trying it out for a laugh and got pretty addicted

My 4th grade French teacher taught us how to make Chinese staircases, chevrons, and candy stripes. A couple years later I wanted to get back into the hobby, so I found some thread around my house and looked up patterns on Google. Then I came across Masha Knots' YouTube channel, and she mentioned BraceletBook in one of her videos. I'm so glad I joined BraceletBook because its such an amazing community and its so much easier to find patterns!

I started when I was 13 when my mom first gave me a bunch of threads and I learned using YouTube. Then I stopped for a awhile. But I started again during quarantine and now I am unstoppable 😂 I used to only do chevrons when I started but now I pretty much do everything!

I needed a present for a friend and got bored one night for about 2 months ago so I made a bordered chevron. After that, I started finding channels about friendship bracelet making and went on from there, learning mostly from youtube.

My dad taught me how to make really simple friendship bracelets when I was around 10 years old. When I was 13 years old, I started making friendship bracelets from patterns. I'm now 17 and I still enjoy it!

When I was 10, my uncle gave me this book that came with a pack of 150 skeins about Friendship Bracelets for Christmas, in the book it had the CandyStripe, Chevron, Diamond, Heart and a few other small patterns; so got into bracelet making that way. After a while of that I went online and would see blogs with other patterns on, and then came across Alpha Patterns, and expanded that way.I stopped for a few years, before picking it back up when I was around 18. 🙂 |

I was in eight grade and now I’m a freshman in university. My mom hated that I was on my phone too much so she showed me how to make a chinese staircase. I later found videos for candy stripes and chevrons. I never imagined that there was such a big community. I found alphas through Masha. I later figured out you can make anything from bracelets and basically fell in love

In january of 2020 i was at my friends b-day party and we played that thing were you have a gift with a bunch of different layers and you pass it around until the music stops and then whoever it lands on they unwrap the first layer (wooh that was a long sentence!) So when it landed on me i unwrapped a tiny bucket that had 2 skeins of embroidery floss and terrible instructions. So like 3 weeks.later i tried to follow the instructions but twas confuzzling so i searched up how to do a chevron and i made my first chevron that had 16 string!!!!
