Four years ago my mom got my sister and me some embroidery floss and taught us how to do a candy stripe. When I went to camp I learned how to do a chevron and a fishtail type bracelet. And kept doing those for a few years, until a few months ago when @sushiramen showed me BraceletBook! Now I have an Etsy shop and Instagram! And love making friendship bracelets. How did you start making friendship bracelets? |

7 years ago I saw an ad in a newspaper for a Friendship Bracelet loom and thought it was cool so I got it for either my bday or Christmas and then over the years I looked up tutorials until a year and a half ago where I found Kinsey B channel and found BraceletBook (:

I learned how to because me and my friend wanted to have matching bracelets and I learned the candy stripe chevron and Chinese stair case, I then saw a YouTube video that led me to BB and I started to make actual patterns. I made my first bracelet a month and two weeks ago.

I learned about 5 years ago at summer camp and didn’t know any other kinds of bracelets beside the candy stripe and chevron. About a year ago I did my first pattern that was a wave type bracelet and joined bb not long after.

I got a book at a garage sale like 6ish years ago, but I didn’t really get into it until 4 years ago at summer camp 🙂

I started doing it at a summer camp. It was only a candy striped one, but I didn't understand how to make. But eventhough I tried it nearly every day. At home I started watching YouTube (most of time "aliveforfashion"). And so I learned how to make different things. Then I saw in one of her videos that she found her pattern on bb. So I learned a lot and saw this site 😄

My cousin first taught me the chinese staircase and candystripe but I didn’t get it at first. By March my sisters had some thread and I wanted something to do so I started making kumihimo patterns then saw online where I was looking for patterns that there were so many friendship bracelet patterns. I then started making my own bracelets from there

Once a year the kids, teens and young adults of my church community go on a trip together - the RKW (basically means Religious Kids Week). There is always a big box of wool and the older kids teach everyone how to make bracelets. I learned candy stripes and chevron there and than we started creating patterns on our own. I didn't even know there were such things as patterns or alpha patterns, but last year an older one of the kids brought a book with patterns, so I tried one of them... It was horrible, because I didn't even know there were such things as backwards-forwards / forwards-backwards knots. So when I got home again I looked it up and found loads of patterns on Pinterest. Then I wanted to create a pattern for my own ideas that I had, so I searched for a generator. This was when I found this community and website. That was one and a half months ago, now I love this website and am sooo thankful I found this <3(Sorry if there are any mistakes, English is not my native language, even if I learn it since since eight years in school) |

I started because of my art teacher in sixth grace she taught me a really basic bracelet and then in seventh grade I started making patterns when everyone was in that vsco bracelet making stage and now it just kinda stuck

The VSCO trend last summer . That’s what got me into friendship bracelets . Before that I would just do rainbow loom and beaded bracelets .

my older sisters always used to make me chevrons and candystripes. around may of 2019 i saw they were trending again because they tend to resurface during the summer. i made chevrons and candystripes all summer because i was too scared to try any advanced patterns lol! so i stopped making them when school started until quarantine, i thought bracelet book would introduce so many patterns! i wasnt great at first but now id say im pretty good at them.

My best friend taught me how to make a chevron, and then we made a business out of it. After that, I found friendship bracelets.net and taught myself how to read patterns. Then I found masha knots and moved on to braceletbook
