Ok.so i say pillow with an i lime its supposed to be pronounced but my friend says pellow, so i was wondering how do you say pillow

I used to saw “pellow” and until I was like 6 I thought that that was actually how it was spelled. But even knowing that it’s supposed to be pronounced like “pillow”, I only started saying it correctly a few years ago

I’ve been told by my sister that I say it with an e so pellow and I do the same with milk I guess I say melk but I’ve literally never noticed I pronounce those words wrong lol I thought I was saying right this entire time.
