The title pretty much says it haha. It can be about anything, patterns, knotting, strings, colours, whatever. I'll start: i don't like the chevron pattern. It's usually the first one that people suggest to start with but when i did it the first time i messed up sooo many times that now i hate it 😂AGREE TO DISAGREE ABOUT EVERYTHING! |

i think braided ties are better than twisted ties. to me, braided ties just look prettier, especially the fishtail braid, and they are easier. sometimes when i try to do twisted ties it unravels after i do the overhand knot even though i’m doing it right. braids are just more secure and they don’t unravel after you tie the overhand knot. i still do twisted ties though if i think that it is the most fitting for the specific pattern.

I don’t like making bracelets that start with loops. It doesn’t make sense to me how you get them on your wrist. If I make something with a loop it will be a keychain.

I think that while alphas and normals are both cool, I don’t like wearing my alphas, so I don’t make them as much. Also, agreed about the braided ties, I like them better and they’re easier.

@margarine i never even thought of wearing alphas lol they're just too big and you can't really see the design if it's wrapped around the wrist

@firstknots true — some of the smaller patterns could work to be worn on a wrist, but the larger ones definitely wouldn’t work.

Alphas are too much work, they take forever and they take up so much string. The backs are weird-looking. In my opinion they aren't worth it.

@Fluffball agreed. when i make alphas i only do very small keychains because they take forever and you can't really wear them. they're cool but they use so much string and take forever

I don’t know if this is unpopular, but I don’t wear my bracelets, this mainly applies when I make fat bracelets especially, I just don’t like how they fold when you move your wrist, I hope that makes sense. So why do I make them you may ask? I have no idea. :3

This isn’t an unpopular opinion but it’s just an opinion I dislike (I’m so sorry if I offend you) a lot of people assume (in my town at least) that if you make and wear friendship bracelets your instantly a VSCO girl now. I’ve had many people come up to me and say that I must be a VSCO even tho the only thing that would be VSCO related is the bracelet. I make bracelets because it’s a popular thing at the summer camp I go to and it’s always a fun thing to see,trade, and make bracelets at camp. Anyways there’s my rant XD(note: I have nothing against VSCO girls) (my apologies for any misspellings and incorrect grammar)

I really don’t like the look of the alpha teardrop loop technique where you make normal-style triangle ends and then go into knotting alpha-style. Having the knots be staggered and then all of a sudden in columns just looks weird to me

normal patterns are kinda ugly, its so rare for me to find one that I actually like haha I think the last time I made one was prob months ago, I kinda just went straight to learning how to make alphas so I prefer alphas
