Hello! I was just curious who all on here is homeschooled and talk about stuff related to it. Here’s some questions if you want to answer them:

1. How long have you been homeschooled?

2. What curriculum(s) do you use?

3. Did you ever go to a co-op?

4. What do you like the most and least about homeschooling?

5. Would you rather go to a private or public school instead?

If you think of any questions you want to ask, ask away!

My answers: 1. I’ve been homeschooled since 3rd grade. 2. I use mostly A.C.E., with the exception of math and writing 3. I’ve never done the whole co-op thing, I don’t even really know what they are all about 😂 4. I like the flexibility homeschooling gives you, and I don’t have anything negative to say about it. 5. NO!! I love homeschooling! Totally recommend it to everyone!

I've never been homeschooled but i got a question. Most of the people i met/made friends with i met them in school. If It's not too personal, where did you know your friends?

@firstknots I’ve made most of my friends at church. I don’t have a lot of friends, but I didn’t have many friends in public school either, so it doesn’t bother me. I only see them a few hours a week, so sometimes I do wish I could see them more.

Late reply, but I saw this thread 😂 I was homeschooled through middle school. I used Suntrust. I did not go to a co-op. I liked being able to move at my own pace since I was more advanced than kids my age, but I always felt really lonely, so I prefer public school personally. I liked my public high school, but it was almost like a private school because it was very sheltered and they paid to bus troubled kids off to a different school. So yeah, there’s my answer 😂

well i’ve never been homeschooled but since there’s a pandemic going on and everything my district might not be able to open this year. based on the 3 months of online school i’ve done (it’s probably a lot different than regular home school but whatever lol) i do not like it and i want to go back to my public school. it’s nice to sleep in though. i’m sure homeschool is better when you can go to church and play sports and other stuff to see people but i still really hope my school can open again. and i’m typically a person who despises school.

@l_d_1_3 That’s very fair. It’s just so nice to be around friends during the school day

@jesmc2129 yeah and honestly online work was so confusing. all my teachers posted at different times, i didn't really have anyone to explain it to me because we didn't have zoom meetings. and my school is a performing arts school so i have a bunch of music classes like piano lab, music theory, jazz orchestra, 2 string ensembles, and 2 other orchestras plus private lessons so every single one of those classes assigned something. i like orchestra but listening to classical music and reading articles about it to answer questions is so boring lol

I’m homeschooled! 🙂

1. I’ve been homeschooled since kindergarten.
2. We don’t really use a curriculum. We just kind of buy different books for different subjects. I do math online though.
3. I went to a co-op for 2 years.
4. Being flexible and staying in my pjs!😂 There’s not really anything I don’t like about it.
5. Nope!

@Disney12 what did you do at your co-op? I’ve never been to one so I have no idea what they are about. 😂

I took Spanish, art and science at co-op. It’s like a school taught by parents. If that makes any sense? 😂 Basically homeschool parents can volunteer to teach a class. It was pretty fun. You got to meet new people too. 🙂

hey guys im late but ive been homeschooled since 3rd grade so 9 years. I use Abeka Academy and ive never been to a co-op. i like having the flexibility but i dont like what people say/ think about us. since we might be considered the "awkward" group before they know us well. ive been to private and public school and had a bad experience with both. i actually really like being homeschooled!!
