I saw many videos on you tube and many other videos and they always say that it takes them only a few hours and I don't understand how... Each bracelet takes me at least a week and I don't understand how it takes them such little timeSo I wanted to know how long it takes you to finish a bracelet and if you have any tips on finishing a bracelet faster... Thanks! |

I make mine in about 3 hours unless it's really wide but usually it's still less than two days

Generally depends on the bracelet anywhere from an hour to a couple of days, if I get some solid time to actually work on it

I've found that it just takes a lot of practice and usually I listen to music while I'm tying because I get distracted by like EVERYTHING so if I have headphones in I can concentrate. Also if you start with smaller easier bracelets and then start making harder ones you'll get better at it. And I have to tell you, I've been making friendship bracelets for at least 5 years and have easily made over like 300-400 bracelets... I've had a lot of practice!

I agree with TFK19 I work a lot faster if I get in a zone and remain up distracted

I find that it helps sometimes to not make the bracelet the center of your schedule. Try, rather than taking time out of your day, incorporating the bracelet into activities you were already doing. Watching tv? Knot on commercials and during boring parts. On a long car ride? Knot while your driving somewhere! You will be surprised how many activities you do that don't require hands so you can friendship bracelet multitask 🙂. I know this doesn't work for some people, but it helps me get bracelets done pretty fast without taking up all my time. You should try it!

Depends (for me) on the pattern and how much time I have. I can either be done in a couple of days or get bored and not finished until a few weeks later xD.

It depends on the pattern and how much I feel like working on it 😛

I knot while my husband and I watch TV. That's a good way to measure how long it takes you to knot. If you're watching an hour-long show, start at the beginning of the show and see how much you tied when the show's over. I agree with the other commenters, you get faster with practice. I can do a 10-string normal pattern in 45 minutes, but I have to be "in the zone." If you want to get faster at alphas, try drawing the pattern on graph paper before you start. It may take some extra time in the beginning. But by drawing and coloring the pattern, your forcing your brain to learn the pattern in a number of different ways. Then, when it comes time to tie the pattern itself, you'll have a much better FEELING of how the pattern is supposed to look. This keeps you from having to constantly glance at the grid.

It usually only takes me about a few hours, but I never do it straight, so I have been doing one for about 2 years. XD

It depends on the pattern. Normal patterns take up to a day or two at the most. Alpha patterns take about a week. Big alpha patterns or custom patterns take at least two weeks.
