@erincostaa heyyy girll j was a cheerleader for 4 years I started in 7th grade and have come a longgg way but it just isn’t my thing anymore. My advice is honestly just be yourself and walk into tryouts with confidence! Show them that you want to be there with a good attitude and they’ll remember you. The gymnastics related stuff takes time so maybe try and ask a girl at tryouts if she’d be willing to help you advance or anything! Hope this helps, if you need more advice I got you girl!

Your gymnastics skills isn’t a make it or break it thing that will determine your chances of making the team. The thing they look for the most is confidence, your ability to be able to work as a team and leadership. Practice and stretching everyday will be able to help with your flexibility. You can also sign up for tumbling classes which I highly recommend. Most of my cheer team through middle school, high school and college take extra tumbling classes. When you go into clinics make sure you’re able to pick up the routines quickly and just smile and have fun.
