@Hanners exactly exactly exactly. Our only job is to LOVE others. Discrimination on anyone sucks. It has no place in the church. Every person is welcome to the family, God loves every one of His children. No matter what the believe or look like or a t

Being a Christian, I think that a lot of people claim to love God and know his plans. But he has a plan for us, and he set down rules that if you try aren’t very hard to follow. Of course everyone messes up sometimes. But God is forgiving, loving, and he wants us to join him someday. I don’t support LGBTQ. However I love the people because God loves them and they don’t deserve to be hated for their choices even if I don’t personally agree. What Would Jesus Do, He Would Love FIRST.

@GenMalucci I appreciate your tolerance, even if you don't agree with us. One thing I would like to point out is for most of us, it's not a choice of who we do and don't fall in love with, or how we feel on the inside. The whole point of pride is accepting this is who we are, and for many of us who are Christian and LGBTQ+ we accept that this is simply the way God made us, and that it's part of his plan for us.I agree that God has set down rules for us to follow, but as Christians, God has put two of these rules above all others: His Golden Rule "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you" and Jesus' final commandment: "Love one another, As I have loved you, that ye also love one another." He basically says this is how he wants others to see his disciples. I simply wished more Christians, especially the ones I grew up around followed these rules. |

@roundcat I totally agree. However, I meant more like if someone supports something I don’t I will still love them as God would. I try to treat others as kindly as possible. Like I said, I don’t really support lgbt but I will still love the person, because God loves everyone regardless.

@GenMalucci I was mostly talking about the Christians who take that disagreement and turn it into hatred and action. The ones who tell us God hates us and we're going to hell. The ones who abandon their children due to the way they are. The ones who bully, attack and murder us. The ones who try to make loving each other and find our true selves illegal and punishable, The ones who don't see us as children of God, or even human beings. If you do none of these things, then you're fine by me. I'm glad there are still Christians who follow Jesus' message, and try to love all people. I just wish it was more universal. |

@roundcat I think you will find that most Christians are very sweet and try to live on people and don’t hate on lgbtq people. The other side just speaks the loudest if yk what I’m saying

@sprinklez You're probably right. It's just that that minority of Christians has a lot of power and influence over the part of the country I come from, and its part of the reason why it took me so long to love and accept myself, and why I'm still closeted to my family and friends back home. I would be lying if I said it didn't shape my impression of Christianity, but after coming to Japan, and making friends with several Christians from other parts of the US and the world, it has definitely helped rehabilitate my feelings towards it. I certainly hope love wins in the end, but these haven't been very optimistic times for me.

@Heidiv that must be so hard especially growing up in this kind of time when there’s lots of pressure to be “perfect” or to look a certain way. Also that might be preventing you from expressing yourself and just being you. Church and cult are two very different things, and it sounds like your church can’t see that.Has your church put you off christianity? |

@Vivi07 sure! I can try! So, I lived in a place that the community was a big deal. Like really big. Signs everywhere, flags waving, a telephone pole was even painted rainbow, murals, clothing, EVERYTHING, supported it. So, at the time I didn’t really have a strong opinion. Jesus first in my eyes. So as I started reading the Bible, and gathering bits here and there from church, I could tell that it crossed lines with my religion. And religion coming first I think that I don’t support the community because of that. But this town, was insane. There was a guy reading a Bible and these people sinned in front of his face, did a bunch of horrible things, all because it goes against our beliefs. Devastating. I didn’t feel safe going there after that. Sometimes in the car I would tense up because I didn’t know if those people would do anything to me or my family, being visibly part of the community, I got this thought of like, well... if they are ready to go against our religion, just for reading a Bible, than I can’t support that. It was a red flag cause religion comes first for me. That and if you didn’t support it fully than you were hated. I understand that it’s not everywhere that people act like that, but I can’t support something that crosses my beliefs, and people who are okay with hating on Catholics and Christians like myself. I know a lot of Christians support it, but how I have been treated by the group has pushed me away from supporting it. Even more recent occasions make me feel like I’m a horrible person for not supporting it. But I’m reality, it goes against what I believe in. I really wish that the lgbtq community would accept that not everyone has to support it. I’ll love the person, but maybe not what they support. Because of this, and other things I would rather not say for privacy reasons, I don’t support it. I’ll love the people, and I don’t have hate for them, but I don’t support the community. Sorry if this is confusing or long (:
