i'm going to be a senior next year and let me tell you, high school isn't that bad. you'll make a ton of friends and i recommend joining some clubs or a sport. freshman year is scary! you're with the big kids, but don't worry, just hang out with your friends and focus on your grades. sophomore year is by far the easiest year of high school... you're getting into the groove of it and assignments are not nearly as bad. it's chill. JUNIOR YEAR DON'T EVEN GET ME STARTED. it's stressful! you'll be looking at colleges, taking AP courses, and teachers are going to hand you a bunch of work. don't get distracted and you'll be fine. you've got this 🙂

I’ll be a senior next year.. honestly going into to high school i was very scared, but it’s nothing to stress over. make sure to be kind to everyone as you don’t know what they may be going through, and to all the rising freshmen, make upperclassmen friends, they’ll help you.. I made it through freshman year thanks to a few people that have already graduated (I talk to them almost everyday).. don’t waste your time and think “I have three years left, I’ll have time to do that later” because as you can see with quarantine, you’re time is not guaranteed.. take risks, learn from your mistakes, and above all have fun and enjoy your short time in high school

I completely agree with @ahudachko and @hummusboi ; I will also be a senior in the fall, and the one piece of advice I can give you guys is to work on your people skills. Get to know your teachers as humans and not just...people who teach—it’ll help you practice for when you eventually need to ask for college rec letters. Make some friends. Go to the movies every once and a while. Don’t spend every Saturday night sitting at home (but also make good choices and stay safe ). Join a club/sport. Go out into the community and build up that college resume from the beginning; it’ll help you come junior year when you’re swamped with other stuff and are writing your apps. That said, grades matter and get some sleep every once and a while. 😁 Y’all can do this! I believe in you!
