I use wool because it is easier to get and the bracelets are a bit more durable.I usually use a cheap old wool shop in my town in the arcade,I can get 3 medium size balls of baby wool for just over £3 I can get them cheaper at Pound Strechers but sometimes they dont have the colours I want.Because my mum knits she gives me the wool she is not using so I get lucky there 😄 |

This is really cool @HeavenSent! I'd love to see some of the bracelets you've made. I've often wondered if I should try making some bracelets with yarn. (Yarn...Wool... Is it the same?)

@mmmoments--I have started uploading my bracelets on on instagram @ charliealexies or on facebook @ CarLee's Crafts.I think yarn and wool are the same but I am not quite sure. I have found the bracelets tend to last longer and are easier to clean, also get winder range of colours.

I use embriodery floss from prism of another brand here in the netherland and i use cotton thread from Catania or Phildar (dutch brands.)

I buy mine from walmart! They have great string for great prices!!!!!!!!!! They have this huge pack of like 100 skiens of string, for only $9.99 its amazing!

I just bought a pack of 150 skeins at Meijer for $15.99. Compared to the very same pack available at Joann's for $17.99. I don't mind saving a couple dollars!

I love going to Micheals to buy thread and I tend to stay away from buying thread off amazon because I never know if it is a scam or not 😂

I always buy thread off Amazon, they have outstanding prices. A while ago I bought a pack of 240 skeins for $16.99, and I was super impressed when they came because they were pre-organized by color, and had a good texture and like four bonus skeins! 🙂

Wow! I totally forgot that I made this forum post 6 years ago! Thanks for participating everyone! In the last six years I hardly ever get my string anywhere but Amazon! I've even found some nice metallic embroidery floss from Amazon recently!

I have bought different packs from lots of places but I’d say Amazon is great! Michael’s has great selection but high prices. Walmart has great prices but not very good selection. I also love Hobby Lobby which has pretty good prices and selection. I like embroidery floss.

I recently brought string from amazon. It works just fine and I have a lot of different colours but not much of the same colour. It works for me. I also get string from Michaels whenever I go shopping.

Walmart or michaels bc they pretty much have the same string. Also does anyone know where I can get bobbins one stores. I can’t find them anywhere

@ zyxwvut Do you have a Joann Fabrics near you? I've been able to find plastic bobbins for embroidery floss there. Sometimes when I order embroidery floss from Amazon they will also send bobbins. I've also made my own out of thin cardboard when I couldn't find them anywhere else.
