Hi! I am a synesthete meaning I have synesthesia. Now for those of you who don't know it means that my sense trigger other senses. The most well known varient of this is listening to music causing people to see colors. For me one trigger is that sometimes reading will elicit taste. Not like the book is talking about an orange and I suddenly taste orange but certain types of scenes will cause me to taste something kinda random. Mystery books often taste like vanilla lolAnywhoozle I'm bored and also love my magical ability so ask me questions! It could be specific like what color is a certain letter/word/phrase or it could be general like whats my most common experience, basically anything! |

Yes!!! I read the book “a mango shaped space” and learnt about synesthesia. I kinda related to it and realised certain words and phrases have a colour “tint”. Like I can see it (in my mind) but if I focus it goes away. I posted a forum topic about it but it went unnoticed… It’s so cool to find another person like this! (Yours sounds more fun tho) Do you ever associate a book/other thing with a bad taste?

@martha9999 oooh auras! I dont get those often but if I focus I do. @Cow28 nothing really, not everything has a taste. I've found that no website gives me associations. its mostly physical things. i could tell u abt bb orange tho! @dritten527 ooh!! i remembering learning about it because my school librarian read us a book abt it (in elementary school) certain shades of green give me like the acidic post barf taste. @pickles02 yes u r! that's the main one for me too but it happens so much that I'm kinda numb to it lol. for example 5 is a bright fire truck red. also I occasionally have letter number associations. 5=m and u cannot tell my brain otherwise! sometimes I misspell stuff cuz of that. like I'm writing 55 but it comes out mm. and cuz I'm one of those ppl who visualise word in my head sometimes I will misspeak cuz of it.one time I meant to say element and I said elefivent lol @fishyknots ok so my fav association has a fun story. one time I was hanging out with a friend and we were talking about our fav tastes. well I said the taste of a good book. they thought I ate books for a bit!! but like when I get really absorbed in a world I get this vanilla ish sweet kind of taste that matches no food. kinda like the sweetness of a mint without the mint if that makes sense. for songs its a little different. i get like throbs and swirls of colors and occasionally images. its kind of hard to explain but its kind of like watching a painter paint except between each stroke the painting goes blank. keep the questions coming folks! this is fun! |
