@maxbraclet oh cool! I wasn’t sure if I would maybe have to work at a small business since they tend to work around your schedules more

Spend time enjoying your high school experience. Go to dances and football games with friends. Don’t spend most of your lunch period talking about grades, talk about random things like funny jokes you’ve heard or the book you’ve been reading. At least where I live everyone is very very academically focused which is great because we are all encouraged to do challenging things but sometimes that goes too far. Also create good study habits. It will really help you in the long run. Some people think that since they are taking easier classes they don’t have to study but eventually you will and creating those good healthy study habits will really help especially when you’re a junior and senior. And also grades don’t determine your worth. You will get grades you are not proud of but you use those grades to improve in the future especially for finals so that you don’t make the same mistakes you made before.

I'm not in high school yet but next year I will. with my sport witch I play volleyball and I'm getting like 20 hours a week of volleyball!! so next year that will be tricky but one of my friends works at this one place that hires 14 year olds and is really good with scheduling so I'd say to find a job that has a manager that's really flexible with your schedule.

@ElinBeck22 omg 20 hrs a week seems insane but I guess that’s what I do for softball when it’s in season 😣

Try not to sweat the small stuff but please please please do your homework on time. I’m a sophomore in highschool and my grades plummeted last year because I procrastinated on little assignments and they never got done. Other than that just roll with it. Stress is your worst enemy and a lot of it will come from assignments you know you have to do but just wont. Also join as many clubs as you want because they really help make connections. If your school has a drama club I strongly advise joining that too. I know every school is different but some of the best people I’ve ever met are from drama club.

I have done 3 jobs at once and two jobs with summer school. Personally there were only a few times were I had to prioritize one job over the other to which I just chose the one that gave me more hours/money but I also found that I enjoyed beign able to multitask. As an upper year sutdent I am able to have spares in school which give me time to get personal and school work done. My advice is enjoy the first two years of high schoolwithout working (most places won't hire that young regardless) but sports and school at that time is always the best priority. Once you do start working, look for a more flexible job. I know I got lucky but I feel like its because I took time to learn how to time manage, I didn't just jump in full swing.
